Who Needs Yeats Reads Bellini                                                                  (See Yeats Read Bellini)

I went to the Frick because of fire was in my head.

And took a shortcut past the three Vermeers

to drool in front of Bellini’s "Saint Francis" (shall I say "instead").

Like a little silver trout I was caught

by the mystery of the marble spout

out in the wilderness

dispensing

Clear

Spring

Water.

I trace with my eyes the waters source

through green cracks in the rocks above

and behind Saint Francis

to the start in a clump of what may be Hazel wood.

Through wild land and hilly land it still flows.
